The Role
- Bionic Flow is 5C's voice-to-report product for radiologists. It turns dictated clinical intent into a sign-ready report with subspecialty templates, guardrails, quality checks, and workflow automation.
- We are hiring one Member of Technical Staff for this team. You will build the product surface, AI orchestration, workflow integrations, and feedback loops that make radiologists materially faster without lowering the clinical bar.
- This is not a generic full-stack role. The job is to make one of the most important AI-native radiology products in the country work beautifully in the messy reality of daily reporting.
What You Will Build
- Radiologist-facing workflows for dictation, report drafting, editing, signing, template selection, and exception handling
- AI orchestration that combines speech recognition, report generation, structured templates, quality checks, and auditability
- Product instrumentation: acceptance rate, edit distance, report turnaround time, false-positive checks, radiologist satisfaction, and failure modes
- Template and lexicon systems for neuroradiology, MSK, chest, abdomen, emergency, and other reporting contexts
- Integrations with 5C's reporting platform, PACS/RIS environments, and internal QA systems
- Fast iteration loops with radiologists: sit through real reporting sessions, understand what breaks concentration, then ship the fix
How We Work
- AI-assisted development is the baseline. Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex are part of how we ship. You should already be using these tools seriously
- Stack you will touch: TypeScript, React, Node.js, Python/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redis, AWS, LLM pipelines, speech systems, and clinical workflow services
- The bar is product quality, not demo quality. Radiologists should trust the system enough to use it during real reporting pressure
- We ship frequently, measure honestly, and improve from real clinical usage instead of polishing ideas in isolation
You Should Have
- Strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to ship production code with limited supervision
- Fluency in TypeScript or Python, with enough range to work across frontend, backend, data, and AI integration surfaces
- Good product taste. You care about latency, defaults, empty states, keyboard flow, error recovery, and how a radiologist actually works
- Comfort building with AI tools daily, including using agents to write, test, refactor, and inspect code
- Evidence of unusual learning rate: strong GitHub, open-source work, shipped products, research systems, startup work, or deep side projects
Even Better If You Have
- Experience with speech-to-text, LLM applications, evaluation pipelines, or human-in-the-loop AI systems
- Healthcare, DICOM, HL7, PACS/RIS, or medical workflow exposure
- Experience building products for expert users where speed and trust matter more than visual decoration
- Open-source contributions or a public body of work that shows taste and depth
Why 5C
- 5C is one of the best places to work for serious, engaged builders. We are a leading company in agent-driven software development and a leading business in AI for medical imaging at the same time
- You will work on systems that move from code to clinical impact unusually quickly: reports delivered faster, radiologists made more effective, hospitals able to serve more patients
- Resumes are not important. Proof of work and proof of a high learning rate matter more. Show us systems you built, products you shipped, open-source work, customer outcomes, or unusually strong side projects
- We are strongly biased toward candidates who can join quickly. If your notice period is short, your application will move faster because these teams are being built now.
