The Role

You'll own critical parts of 5C's radiology platform — the system that processes millions of medical scans, routes them to radiologists, delivers AI-assisted reports, and powers dashboards for hundreds of hospitals. This is a senior engineering role where your architectural decisions directly affect clinical outcomes.
We need engineers who can design systems, not just write code. You'll make trade-offs between speed and reliability, decide when to build vs. buy, and mentor other engineers — all while shipping at startup pace.

What You'll Own

Design and build core platform services: scan routing, report delivery, real-time notifications, billing, and analytics
Architect APIs and data models that scale — our platform handles thousands of concurrent imaging workflows
Build and maintain clinical dashboards used daily by radiologists, hospital admins, and operations teams
Own infrastructure decisions: database design, caching strategies, queue systems, deployment pipelines
Integrate with hospital systems (PACS, RIS, HL7) and AI model serving infrastructure
Mentor junior engineers and establish engineering best practices

AI-assisted development is the baseline. We use Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex daily — you should already be shipping faster because of these tools
Our stack: TypeScript (React, Node.js), Python (FastAPI), PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Redis, AWS. You don't need to know everything, but you should be comfortable across the stack
Small team, high ownership. No PRDs, no sprint ceremonies, no managers breathing down your neck. You own the problem, you own the solution
We ship to production multiple times a day. Move fast, but don't break healthcare

3+ years building and deploying production web applications
Strong system design skills — you can whiteboard a distributed system and explain trade-offs
Deep experience with TypeScript/JavaScript (React, Node.js) and at least basic Python proficiency
Production database experience: PostgreSQL, query optimization, schema design, migrations
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs at scale
A public GitHub profile or portfolio that demonstrates your engineering depth
