Dr. Kiranmai S has done both. She has covered multiple centers in a single day the way a lot of radiologists do early in their careers, and she has also worked full-time within one network. When asked what actually feels different about the second option, she doesn't reach for anything about workload or pay. She talks about her son.
"Both options have their own advantages," she says, "but working with 5C allows me to spend more time with my son, and to actually be involved in his activities." It is a small sentence that carries most of the reason she stayed.
Why full-time won, over freelancing and multiple centers
The maths of freelancing across several centers can look appealing on paper. In practice, Dr. Kiranmai found it came at a cost: the constant switching. Different systems, different contacts, different expectations, all in the same day.
"Working full-time with 5C gives me a more streamlined, convenient experience compared to managing multiple centers in a day," she says. "The flexibility and the focused environment let me maintain a better work-life balance, and I'm still growing professionally. I'm just not paying for that growth with my evenings."

We asked what advice she'd give a radiologist just starting out. Her answer had less to do with any particular workplace and more with how to survive the early, error-prone years of the profession itself, she says.
"Don't feel demotivated or discouraged when you get cross-sectional errors. Learn from the feedback, identify where you can improve, and use it as a chance to strengthen your reporting."
