The Role
- We are consolidating our computer vision hiring into one high-bar role: Member of Technical Staff, Computer Vision. This role is for builders who can take medical imaging AI from data and experiments to production systems used in clinical workflows.
- You will work on models that understand CT, MRI, X-ray, mammography, and other imaging data, but the expectation is not paper-only research. The expectation is shipped model behavior that radiologists can trust, measure, and improve.
- We are strongly biased toward candidates who can join quickly. If your notice period is short, your application will move faster because these teams are being built now.
What You'll Own
- Training, evaluation, and deployment of computer vision models for classification, detection, segmentation, measurement, and triage
- Clinical evaluation pipelines that connect model metrics to radiologist utility and patient safety, not just leaderboard numbers
- Dataset curation workflows across DICOM studies, annotations, reports, quality labels, and real-world feedback
- Inference and monitoring systems for production model behavior: drift, failure modes, latency, uncertainty, and clinical exception handling
- Close collaboration with radiologists to understand ground truth, edge cases, false reassurance risk, and what makes an AI output useful
- Technical writing, research artifacts, or publications when they help 5C advance the field
You Should Have
- 2+ years of strong computer vision, deep learning, or production ML experience
- Strong Python and PyTorch skills, including custom datasets, training loops, experiment tracking, and model debugging
- Experience with at least one of: medical imaging, DICOM/NIfTI, 3D volumetric analysis, segmentation, detection, vision transformers, self-supervised learning, or multimodal image-text systems
- The ability to reason rigorously about evaluation: sensitivity, specificity, false positives, false negatives, calibration, cohorts, and clinical usefulness
- Evidence that you can ship or strongly contribute to production ML systems, not just notebooks
Even Better If You Have
- Publications, strong research artifacts, or open-source contributions in computer vision or medical AI
- Experience deploying models with ONNX/TensorRT, distributed inference, active learning, or human-in-the-loop review
- Experience working with radiologists, clinicians, or regulated healthcare data
- Strong software engineering range beyond training code
Why 5C
- 5C is one of the best places to work for serious, engaged builders. We are a leading company in agent-driven software development and a leading business in AI for medical imaging at the same time
- You will work on systems that move from code to clinical impact unusually quickly: reports delivered faster, radiologists made more effective, hospitals able to serve more patients
- Resumes are not important. Proof of work and proof of a high learning rate matter more. Show us systems you built, products you shipped, open-source work, customer outcomes, or unusually strong side projects
- We are strongly biased toward candidates who can join quickly. If your notice period is short, your application will move faster because these teams are being built now.
